5 Key Elements To Effective MLM Leadership
Struggling to recruit people into your wonderful MLM opportunity? In that case I have a cure for the MLM lonliness blues. I get it...you're doing everything your leadership is telling you to do, but there are a few characteristics you'll need to develop to make this whole sponsoring thing work. And you may not ever here them mentioned.
More than anything else, creating a successful MLM business is about growing you...and there are five areas of your leadership development that require your attention. A positive attitude, skill, discipline are all important, but, the five essential, and almost never mentioned, characteristics are Alignment, Alpha Leadership, Being Present, Preparation and Professionalism. You've got a business to build and people to lead, so lets get to it!
Lets begin at the beginning,.."A"..for Alignment, a word that is seldom heard in leadership terms, but critical in achieving your goals. So what does it mean to be aligned? And exactly what should you have aligned in order to maximize your results.??
I found music to be a good analogy. Liken it to a musical score; there are different notes and instruments all carefully orchestrated to perform a beautiful melody. Any note struck out of harmony with the melody we would consider to be a "sour" note. Not because of the note itself, but because it is out of "alignment" with the melody.
The tune you want to play would be analagous to your vision. Your written goals and action plan would serve as the score. You might see your mind and body as the istruments and your beliefs and emotions as the notes and chords. In this example harmony would be achieved by the careful execution of each note. Any emotion, belief or thought expressed out of alignment with your vision would be considered out of alignment and sbsequently tossed out.
Developing an "Alpha Personality" is a major turning point for many leaders in this industry. In a nut shell it is that point in your career when you put aside your fears and anxieties and start to carry yourself with confidence and authority. Like animals, people can sense doubt and uncertainty. But the Alpha personality has risen above all that and exudes confidence and certainty. Isn't that why you are followling your leadership?
You ever wonder why at the beginning of a presentation the speaker always ask you to turn off your cell phones and leave the trials of the day outside? You are being called to "Be Present". It is the characteristic that allows you to keep the past in the past and deal with the future when it comes, but "NOW" is the time when all meaningful activity happens. Effective leaders all know how to BE PRESENT!
Everyone wants to succeed, not everyone is mentally or emotionally prepared to succeed. "Preparation" has to do with mental toughness and emotional maturity at a level above the level of success you envision. If you want to win at anything, you can't wear your heart on your sleave. Effective leadership entails a level of mental and emotional awareness that strengthens you to push through all obstacles, even if it means leaving people that you care about behind.
The difference between professionals and amateurs is more than that one gets paid for their talent or service. The world is full of people who get paid and we still consider to be extremely un-professional. In corporate America you often find people with titles who lack the professionalism that goes with it. But as a network marketing leader you can ill afford to be un-professional. On the contrary, it is your job to inspire confidence, trust, discipline and other similar traits...the essence of professionalism. Your people have a right to expect it...You have a responsibility to deliver it!
this journey you're undertaking will undoubtly have its tribulation. Accept the fact that you will naturally feel some hesitation and anxiety when facing your challenges. But learning to overcome those anxieties is the purpose of vision.
