Keynote Speakers and Speech
A keynote speech summarizes the basic idea of a conference or convention. It is usually given by a person who is an expert in his field. This person is known as a keynote speaker.
In any convention or literary conference, the term keynote speakers commonly refer to the persons who deliver the composition or main idea of the whole convention. Keynote speech presents the basic idea and sets the atmosphere for the event. The keynote speech may come at the beginning or at the end depending on the requirements of the event.

Due to time restrictions, the conferences are getting shorter and are being reduced to merely a day or two. This has made keynote speaking more of a professional requirement. One may not even be an expert in the field yet having the capabilities of excellent oration may give him/her chance to give the keynote address.

Some Keynote speakers might attend a conference or meeting free, generally if it is for a noble cause but when multi nationals or huge corporations invite speakers they usually pay them a fee.
