It is the third largest ski resort in Canada situated about 35 miles or 55km north of Kamloops in British Columbia. A variety of summer activities are waiting for you in this beautiful area. With a resort this large, there needs to be a lot of employees. Without them, the resort will not flourish. It sometimes is difficult to find people to work here because housing can be on the expensive side. Guest lodging needs to also grow so more visitors can be accommodated.
There are flights to the resort and it is also possible to drive there. If a direct road from the east can be constructed, the resort should get more visitors from places such as Banff and Lake Louise. It will save on travel time.
Al Raine is the first mayor of the Sun Peaks community, a major key in the growth and development of the resort. Also, the mayor's wife is a multi Olympic gold medalist skier.
